Cake Jewellery is a
relatively new way of decorating cakes and is made using floristry,
jewellery and craft wires together with beads, shapes cut from flower
paste or pastillage and are NOT edible. They can also include a
variety of different types of feathers such as marabou, peacock, coq or
ostrich. They therefore only rest on the cake or are inserted into
the cake using food grade flowerpicks. The shapes can be covered
with glitter if desired. The jewellery can be garlands,
fountains or crowns or can be a combination of all three. The
colours of the wires and beads can be coordinated to match the cake
covering. The cake itself can be made using rich fruit cake, light fruit cake, carrot cake, Victoria sponge, Madeira, rich chocolate cake, white chocolate cake, or for something a bit different, orange sponge cake with Grand Marnier buttercream or walnut cake with coffee butter icing, or, of course, a combination if you have more than one tier! Please be aware if choosing madeira, that it is a traditional type of cake and not a sponge, therefore can seem a little drier. If you want a nice moist sponge, you may prefer a Victoria sponge. I require at least 6 weeks notice for rich fruit cake to allow it to mature, and 4 weeks notice for other cakes to allow for the time it takes to make the jewellery. Please let me know at time of ordering if you would like your fruit cake to be "fed". Here are some pictures of my cakes. Please click on a picture you like for a larger image. For prices, please contact me or complete the order form and email it. Please contact me to discuss your requirements. I have many other designs to choose from. I will only deliver in Norfolk, and there will be a charge for any deliveries
